spark plug crossover?

I am having trouble getting a new spark plug for my 601 superflow. the plug in it is a NGK B 6 .

Does anyone have a cross over or new NGK number?
Thanks
Lee

NGK's naming conventions are here:

NGK numbers decoded

So apparently "B6" only tells you that it has a 14mm thread and the heat range is 6. This leaves a lot of other variables like thread reach and composition of tip.

On scooterbbs, someone several years ago reported successfully running B7HS, which would be a slightly colder plug that sticks slightly farther into the combustion chamber (12.7mm instead of 9.5mm reach). The S just means "standard electrode". Assuming the piston won't smack into the plug if the plug sticks an extra 3mm into the combustion chamber, a B6HS should be fine. It also appears that many of the 2-stroke Vespas run B6HS plugs as stock, so they should be easy to find.

B-6S or B6S should be the same as B6 (the "S" just means standard tip). I see numerous sources on the web...

As for other brands, I've pretty much gone over to all NGK. When I had an old Honda motorcycle with an iffy charging system, the NGKs lasted far longer before fouling than Denso or Champion plugs, so I've been sold on NGK ever since.

Thanks for the reply.
I did find the longer version but was afraid it would be too long and hit the piston.

I will go get one and turn the motor over slowly to see how it works.

Some places with the B6 (or identical B6S) online:

http://www.outerbanksoutfitters.com/product/365510619.htm

http://store.usavediscountmarine.com/ngk-b6s.html

http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?M=NGK-SPARK-PLUG&ID=3141041&ref=GB

Looks like the plug was used in numerous outboard engines...have a boat shop nearby?
