Shane's Rabbit herd in Seattle

This will be a slow process, as some are stuffed in the back corner of the shed and are not readily visible...I'll update as the scoots come out and I take fresh pics...

This is an S601 I picked up in Sacramento after seeing it on Ebay. It's in pretty good cosmetic shape for its age. The vinyl on the seats is brittle, the inside of the gas tank looks pretty grim (copper pipes sticking out of the petcock into the tank are corroded to nothing), but the engine has compresion. This one should be pretty easy to get running and on the road. I'm not planning to repaint/restore -- I'd like to keep it original and unrestored if possible.

Cleaning out the shed last weekend, had to pull out 3 of the Rabbits (the 3 nicest-looking ones)...

The inventory includes:

1. S301BH (in the picture) -- I think it was never sold outside Japan. Looks like a 402, but has the torque converter transmission and a 125cc motor)
2. S402BT (first one I purchased, needs restoration, but it's all there except for the seat)
3. S402BT (green) -- runner, now needs seat (long story).
4. S402BT (red/white) -- bought as part of a package, mostly complete, I haven't done anything with it yet.
5. S402AT -- brown -- also bought as part of a package, missing some parts, haven't touched it yet.
6. S402BT -- multicolor -- third scoot bought in that package, haven't touched it yet.

I think all of those scoots may have originally come from Ohio, but I bought them from California. Those are all the 301/402 body type.

7. S601 in picture -- came from Fresno, CA. Haven't tried starting it yet, but cosmetically it's very good.

8. S601 -- bought in Sacramento, CA -- missing some parts, but ran in the not-too-distant past.

9. S601 -- came from Oakland, CA.

10. S601 parts lot -- was originally 2 different scooters, almost enough parts to make a whole scoot, I think.

I think that's all of them -- I'm clearly better at acquiring them than I am at fixing them or working on them because I don't have a garage yet. However, we just bought a new house and I'm building a garage, which means I'll have a place to work on the scoots! I'll be thinning the herd once I have a better chance to assess what I have (how many scooters does one guy need?). Most of the scooters need rechroming, paint, mechanical attention, and who knows what else, but the nice thing about scooters is that they're relatively simple to work on/restore. Really looking forward to getting that garage.

Shane, your scooter stable is like mine in sheer numbers, but we differ in orientation.
You have all Fuji Rabbits, whereas I have a Duke's mixture of scooters: 1958 Progress (plus parts scoot), 1960 Harley Topper, 1960 Heinkel Tourist, 1962 Cushman Pacemaker, 1963 Fuji S601C, 1972 Vespa Sprint 150, 1983 Honda Aero 80, 1985 Honda Spree 50, 1987 Honda Helix, 2007 Honda Helix. Lest I might have some wasted space in my shop, I have filled the remaining nooks and crannies with 3 mopeds, 1 motorcycle, and a Cushman Truckster.
