S601 parts...

I will be parting out our extra S601 Superflow in a month or so. Right now I can only confidently see offloading body parts, but later I might have other pieces to sell or trade.
If you would like to see what the body parts look like, go to the Yahoo group list called oddscoot and look in the photo section. Under "Tom Karppi's scooters" you will see the gold Rabbit that will be parted out.

I'll buy the body from ya. I need a lot of incidentals such as the headlight and such. I'm guessing you outbid me on that one in southern Lanc county. You're lucky. I had to go to a meeting 3 minutes before the auction ended. emoticon

Re: S601 parts...

...and I probably have a frame up for sale if someone wants/needs one. (Brioscooter, I know you mentioned on oddscoot that the frame was one part you did need from this one). I bought 2 601s in pieces, and there aren't enough parts to make 2 bikes, but I do have 2 frames (no titles). Unfortunately, I'm up here in the NW corner of the country (Seattle), and it's probably not much easier to ship a frame than it is to ship a whole scooter. Too big for UPS. emoticon
I haven't looked both frames over, but I think they're both straight and free of structural rust (may be surface rust, but they don't salt the roads up here).

Shane,
I would still be interested in a frame. The one on my blue Rabbit was damaged in a collision and then the bent sections were cut off. The frame from the gold scoot is straight, but so badly rusted that I'd have to grind out or fill in all of the pitting. Oy!
I wonder how much a freight company will charge to carry it?

Hi, Benebob,
Just noticed your posting. The body is yours if you want it. The trim is rusted off, but the main parts are okay. Not sure what those items are worth, but we can figure something out.
What part of the country are you in? I live in Maryland. They might be crazy expensive to ship.

Any engine parts ? I need the cylinder cowls and an exhaust (even something that needs repairs) I could also use the door for the fuel tap and the plate that the ignition switch mounts to if you have those.

Cheers

Glen

Hi Glen-

I don't know if you're asking me or Tom (brioscooter) about those parts, but:

--no cylinder cowls from me.
--exhaust pipes are available new from a guy in Australia, but they aren't cheap ($220ish US plus shipping):
http://www.dropbears.com/o/overlander/exhausts.htm
One of my scoots looks like it has a hand-welded exhaust that came from a muffler shop. It looks like someone took the smallest muffler in their shop and welded up the appropriate pipes to make it fit. Might be a cheaper option. Of course, if I needed a new exhaust, I might be tempted to go to a motocross or scooter performance shop and see if they could fab up something that made sense from a performance standpoint. I don't know much about 2-stroke tuning, but I do know that an expansion chamber can make a big difference. I don't know if they can make an expansion-chamber exhaust that still sounds close to stock and fits in the space available, however...

--no ignition plate switch, but claussstudios.com sells repros of that part.

--I have no spare door for the fuel tap, either. I'm assuming you have the plastic gas tank cover and not the metal one? Do you have the spring that holds the door on? I'll bet Greg Clauss could fabricate those pretty easily too -- it's the spring/hinge that would be the tricky part.

 Hey, Glen,
I have no engine parts for sale, but I do have the ignition plate and the fuel petcock door if you want them.
Make me an offer and we can work something out.

Yeah man I'll take the whole body lights etc that you don't need. I'm in lancaster so not so far away. You been in the scooter scene down there long? Remember a Tom Toczic from a few years ago? He's a friend of mine.
