1965 Fuji Rabbit Touring

Hello, I'm new here. I'm considering purchasing (what I'm told) is a 1965 Fuji Rabbit. It has a long single seat. I'm assuming this means it's the touring model. I don't like the long single seat so much. Did all touring come with a single long seat? Can these be changed to a dual seat system? Has anybody done this? I think the coolest rabbits are the superflows. Anyway, any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Scott

Again....sorry to take more than a year to reply! If it has the long seat then yes, it's the touring model (they typically come with front and rear racks, too). Yes, they can be changed to the dual seat system pretty easily. Assuming you are in the US, you probably are looking at an S402BT. Is the speedo up on the handlebar (turns when you turn the handlebar) or just below the handlebar on the inner legshield? Handlebar = the later "B" model, legshield = the earlier "A" model. If the handlebar cover is metal, it's a "B". If it's plastic (often brittle and/or gone), it's the "A".

In Japan, the S301 was a very popular Rabbit model. The body is the same as on the S402. Almost every 301 came with the solo seat and then a locking metal hatch to cover the newly-exposed "glovebox" under the seat. I think the metal hatch can either be covered with a piece of non-skid rubber to provide a good spot for parcels, or the hatch can have a vinyl-covered rectangle of foam attached to the top as a passenger seat. If you look in Yahoo auctions Japan and search for "s301" you should see solo seats available, and I'll bet Kouji Yamada at Rabbit House could set you up as well. If you're looking to unload a bench seat, let me know -- happy to buy.
